Unfortunately It’s only one player and that’s the hardest part to swallow for me because this game is just begging to have two players fighting at the same time.
Double dragon 2 nes 2 player plus#
The NES port of Double Dragon is a fantastic in my opinion but i must let you know that i have a ton of nostalgia backing that up because we would play that game all the time back in the day plus it’s one of the first arcade games i have ever played that makes it hard for me to say anything negative about it. Even dying as fast as i did i still thought that the game was awesome and i still do and if i ever had the money to buy an arcade cabinet for my room it would have to be Double Dragon. I made it up to the part where the first stage opens up and one of the guys throws a freaking steel 50 gallon barrel at you. Well that’s what i thought i was going to do but it turns out that arcade games are tough and being a little kid i got my ass handed to me fast. That’s right Bimmy and Jimmy shit sorry i mean Billy and Jimmy were two bad motherfuckers and i was ready to beat the fuck out of some bad guys. How could i refuse an arcade machine with two bad ass dudes staring me down. As you can imagine i had a hard decision to make in between those two but at the end the double dragon was it. I could not tell you all of the games that were there at that time except for two, Altered Beast and Double Dragon. I walked up to the cabinets with one quarter in my hand that my mother had given me while she was waiting on line for the cashier and i stopped to look at all of the arcade games in front of me to see which one looked the coolest. And this is where my first experience with gaming happened. Anyway outside of the supermarket there were always a line of 6 or so arcade machines lined up against the wall.
The place in whole was called the “Big H Shopping Center” and that’s where everyone in my area would go shopping for groceries, clothing, sneakers and what have you. Ohhh man where do i start ranting about this one? Let’s see here, one of my first memories of playing arcade games was at a supermarket my family would shop at (PathMark) that was in a small mall up the road from my house.
